Force on a Straight Wire – If a current carrying straight conductor (length l) is placed in a uniform magnetic field B such that it makes an angle θ with the direction of field, than force experienced by it is F = BIl sinθ.
(i) If θ = 0°, then F = 0
(ii) If θ = 90°, then Fmax = BIl
(iii) In general, F = I(l×B) or /F/ = BIl sinθ
