Anomalous Behaviour of Lithium…

Anomalous Behaviour of Lithium –
(i) The extremely small size of lithium atom and its ion.
(ii) The melting point and boiling point of lithium are higher than other alkali metals.
(iii) The hardness of lithium is higher than other metals.
(iv) Lithium reacts slowly, Sodium reacts vigorously while K, Rb and Cs reacts violently with water.
(v) Lithium reacts with oxygen least readily and forms normal oxide whereas other alkali metals form superoxides and peroxides.
